General Information & Fees

You are probably here because you are interested in working with me. I am also interested in working with you.

My current situation allows for a lot of flexibility; I work mostly at home and I do a great deal of my group teaching online – currently Zoom is ideal for this, and very affordable – this allows me to offer my online group teaching for whatever donation you can afford. I always include a suggested rate, and that rate is based on many elements, including my current financial obligations and the cost of living in London UK*, and I hope it is clear that I am naturally also pricing myself at a rate that acknowledges my 36 years of teaching experience (as of January 2025).

All of my rates are negotiable – what I am most interested in is that those I teach gain enough understanding of Feldenkrais to recognise the enormous potential it has for improving their lives. This is a deep and continual learning process. Most people realise that when it comes to learning guitar, or piano, or Tai Chi for example, however many people treat this method as more akin to learning to drive, which has an end point, or even visiting an osteopath, which may well involve no learning whatsoever.

Please do not hesitate to negotiate with me, I will be very honest about what I can offer you. It is very easy to include you in my group classes for a very low amount, and at the moment I can afford to teach my individual sessions for negotiated rates. At some point I may be too busy to be as flexible as I can be right now, so do not wait too long to contact me and discuss your situation.

My self-healing focussed Wednesday evening class is timed so that UK attendees can go straight to bed afterwards if that would help them get off to sleep, and this is the class that will be the most useful to you if self-healing is your goal.

Also do please note that you can sign up for any class without always being able to attend live on Zoom, and I can usually send you recordings of the lessons you have missed.

*I mention that I live in London, because now that I have students all over the world you may be reading this in a part of the map that has a very different income/cost of living situation to my part of the UK.

Functional Integration

Individual Feldenkrais Training Sessions

Each individual Feldenkrais lesson with me is a 65-75 minute long session that will include an exploratory discussion of the issues you are dealing with, followed by hands-on training using gentle touch, to enable you to release chronic muscular holding patterns and connect to a more fully conscious sense of your self. At the end of the session you will be given “homework” – practice ideas individually tailored to enable your continuing self-improvement.

The benefits of this work develop and increase over time – as with any practice that is genuinely effective – and ideally you would support your individually-tailored learning process with regular group classes and workshops, as that is undoubtedly the best way to maximise the benefits from a financial viewpoint.

With a commitment to Feldenkrais there is a real possibility of continuous improvement in your ability to move with ease, grace, and elegance, and for you to develop ever greater self-awareness, throughout your life. You should also find that you are enhancing your ability to learn any new skill that interests you.

Standard fee:  £90 per session (from February 1st 2025)

Standard concession rate £70 (no questions asked – this rate is for anyone on a low income–from February 2025).

Booking multiple sessions

Package Rates* & Intensive Courses

A personalised concession rate can be negotiated for any number of individual lessons taken in any time period, however you may like to take advantage of my ongoing offers (see below) – you can also choose to book multiple lessons as an intensive course of study, to be taken in a seven-day period.

Dr Moshe Feldenkrais preferred to teach people on a daily basis for the first forty sessions, and I am sure this is one of the reasons for his high success rate with so many “pupils” experiencing more complex neurological issues, such as Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Stroke, and other forms of brain and neurological injury.

For any intensive course, extra lessons within the seven day time period can be added at the same fee per lesson as per the appropriate package rate.

*Please note all packages rates are to be paid in full in advance of  your final session, preferably in one or two instalments.

My standard ‘Package Rate’ for 3 lessons in a 30 day period (taken during normal working hours) is £180 (from February 1st 2025)

Home Visits

I can do home visits, and my rate is £170, to allow for a 90 session and 2 hours of travel time.

Again, I am happy to negotiate a package rate for blocks of lessons within a pre-agreed time period.

Potent Voice & Singing Tuition

£70 per lesson

I am happy to discuss special rates for a batch of lessons over a specific period of time. Batches of lessons can include one Sunday Potent Voice workshop (currently online) – e.g. 2 x private lessons, and 1 workshop for £155.

All my vocal workshops have shifted online for now, and the special rate applies. Details of these workshops are here.

*I offer hands-on Vocal Functional Integration lessons at the same rates as my standard hands-on tuition, please see above.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

I am very happy to negotiate special rates on an individual basis with anyone interested in committing to regular sessions, as everything I have to offer works much better with dedicated involvement, and regular commitment from you, so please do not let financial difficulties keep you from discussing your situation with me.

Cancellation Policy

I do not choose to penalise last minute cancellations – 24 hours or less – however should such a situation occur I do prefer that you rebook your appointment with me as soon as possible.

Online Sessions via Zoom

Everything I teach is available online. I am currently using Zoom, which means that a recording of your lesson is included in the fee, and will be available to download.

Individual Lessons Online

I am finding that it is possible to give effective and useful one-to-one training online, so do feel free to contact me and we can discuss whether it will work for you. I am now teaching at home again after the long lockdown hiatus, but am enjoying the way working on Zoom enables me to connect with people at a distance, and I really appreciate being able to provide recordings to support ongoing practice. Recordings are particularly useful when it comes to one-to-one voice work.

I have decided to offer an online discount to anyone who needs it, rather than lower my standard rate for one-to-one sessions online, which is £90 for a 75 minute session (allowing extra time for discussion and feedback where necessary). This means my standard fee is only a “suggested” rate, and I am happy to accept a donation instead. I can accept payments via BACS, and, if that is inconvenient for any reason, PayPal.
