I am now going to recommend something to you as a daily practice. It is simple suggestion, but so valuable that I am going to “Sit On The Floor & Lengthen Your Life–Manifesto Rebooted!”
Self-Hypnosis, also known as Autogenic Training, has been around for a long time. I first came across it back in the Eighties, in a book “Feldenkrais-enhanced Self-Hypnosis: a De-Stressing Taster…”
All of us have problems that can be described as “auto-immune”, i.e. the self under attack from the self, and very few of us experience effective long-term relief from drugs alone, although mostly that is all we are offered. Consequently often we are also the medically adventurous, ready to try new behaviours, new diets, to explore the many “alternative” or complementary approaches available, because we know the medications we are on are just not good for us in the long term.
A human being is a complex system and any attempt at defining us inevitably involves some simplification. Similarly, Feldenkrais is a complex Method, and naturally “Quintessensual Consciousness – a brief introduction…”
From my very first Feldenkrais workshop for the eyes it was clear that they do benefit from regular attention and specifically designed Awareness Through Movement “Self-Maintenance for Your Eyes”
Feldenkrais is a process of self-development that uses focussed, intelligent, primal movement sequences to reawaken those parts of our selves that have become disconnected, armoured, and blocked from our self-awareness.
These Awareness Through Movement sequences are designed to improve our ability to integrate all the separate parts of our selves into a fully active, fully engaged, vibrant and ever-evolving living being.
My Embodied Voice course is intended to give anyone who wants them the tools and the sensory-motor awareness necessary to speed up the development of their unique instrument, and their ability to play it with skill – I always do my best to instil the curiosity and confidence necessary to explore the human voice to its full potential.
Harmonising Diaphragms & Sphincters When we think about the way we move as an indicator of good health, we might picture a younger, more lively “The Rhythms Of Life”
When you attend an Awareness Through Movement class you lie on the floor and follow instructions for very precise actions from your teacher, but she “What is a “fully conscious voice”?”
…So, when you notice yourself slumping, shoulders hunched, chest caved in, head poked forward, stop for a moment and notice how truly effortless this posture is for you! You will have regained your own natural poise when a similar moment of self-observation reveals that you are sitting balanced on your sitting bones, shoulders dropped and wide, your breathing free and full, and your head and eyes available to look in any direction without your having to adjust yourself first by “sitting up straight”!
